When I woke up on Saturday morning I wanted something sweet and filling. During summer I found this recipe from Diana Kohyla in a recipe book which, translated, is called "The dictionary of greek cuisine" and was given gratis with a greek newspaper called "TA NEA". I gave it a try and it was very good. So, I decided to do it again because it's easy, with materials I always have at home and very tasty. Tiganites is similar to pancakes.
Tiganites with Yogurt
Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
1 cup greek yogurt
2 large eggs slightly beaten
1/2 - 1 cup water
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Directions
Shift flour, soda and salt in a medium bowl. Add the sugar. In a food processor mix the yogurt, the eggs and the water. Then incorporate the flour mix little by little. If the batter is thick we correct by adding some water. In the end we can add the raisins(this is optional, I didn't use raisins).
In a small skillet over medium heat we add 1 tbsp of margarine and throw 3 tbsp of the batter. When it becomes golden underneath, we flip. When is done, take out and follow the same procedure for all the rest. I served them with honey and cinnamon. I am submitting this recipe to
Bookmarked Recipes which was an idea of Ruth from
