Homemade Pizza

This is not a new recipe. This is an old recipe with a new picture. I apologise for that, but we moved today to our cottage house nearby the sea and I had to arrange everything, so as for us to be able to live in this place. We will stay here for as long as we can. I have managed to have access to the internet and I have arranged everything, so as to be able to work from here without having to be at work physically. My husband thinks I have become a technological freak, but I am really enjoying all this technology can offer. Anyway, for today this is my version to pizza and I will be able to post new recipes during the week. This one is tested and true and the dough is the best I have ever tried. Pizza is one of my favourite Italian dishes. I cannot stop eating.

Homemade Pizza

Ingredients
For the dough
150 ml water
2 tsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
280 gr. flour for bread
1,5 tsp dry yeast

For the tomato sauce (adapted from here)
1 can of tomato puree
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp olive oil
1/4 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp oregano
1/8 tsp basil
1/8 tsp thyme
1/8 tsp garlic powder

For the filling
5 tbsp of the tomato sauce (recipe above)
3 slices of ham
3 slices of bacon
1 can of mushrooms
1 green pepper
2 handfuls of shredded cheese, either edam or gouda or emmental or any yellow cheese that melts easily
1/2 handful of parmigiano reggiano

Instructions
For the dough
If you have a bread machine you put all the ingredients in at the dough program and let it do all the work for you. If you do not have the machine then you will have to do it the old fashion way. You put all the dry ingredients together and then add the water and oil and knead until you make a ball that does not stick to your hands. At the end of either ways you open the dough and put it in a round or rectangular tray. How thick the dough will be, depends on how thick you want the crust.

For the tomato sauce
You combine everything in a saucepan, bring to boil and then simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes. This makes one cup. You will only need about 5 tbsp for this pizza or to your liking. The rest you can put it in the freezer and use it in the future.

Now the last stage: Putting everything together. First you preheat the oven at 200° Celsius. Oil a pan and place the dough, add the tomato sauce, above it the ham and bacon cut in small stripes followed by the cheeses and finally the pepper. You place it in the oven and bake it for approximately 20 minutes depending on the oven. I will have a new recipe for you tomorrow. Until then take care.
